Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-29
This Privacy Policy describes how PureSpec Environmental LLC ("PureSpec", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit purespecenvironmental.com, contact us, or book a service.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, address, phone number, email, the property address being inspected, and any details you share about your concern (e.g. visible mold, water damage history, health concerns).
- Inspection findings & lab data: photographs, moisture readings, thermal images, lab analytical results, and our written report. This is the deliverable you commission.
- Automatic information: when you visit the site, your browser sends standard log data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL). We also collect first-party event signals (page views, button clicks, form submissions, scroll depth) to understand which pages help people and which do not. These signals are processed by Google Analytics 4 and described in the "Cookies and analytics" section below.
- Conversion tracking: if you arrive at our site after clicking a Google Ads listing, Google associates that ad click with any subsequent inquiry (phone tap, booking link click, form submission) so we can measure whether our advertising actually helps people find us. Conversion measurement does not identify you to PureSpec.
- Booking platform data: appointments scheduled through our online booking link are processed by Spectora, which has its own privacy policy.
- Contact form submissions: when you submit our contact form, your message and contact details are transmitted by our form processor (Web3Forms) to Info@purespecenvironmental.com. Web3Forms acts as a transit layer; submissions are stored in our inbox and in Web3Forms' temporary submission log.
- Reviews widget: our home page embeds a Google reviews display from Featurable, which loads its own script and sets its own cookies to render that widget.
How we use information
- To schedule and perform the inspection or testing service you requested.
- To deliver your report and any related lab results.
- To respond to your questions before, during, and after the engagement.
- To keep records as required by Florida licensing rules and customary professional practice.
- To improve the website (aggregated, non-identifying analysis only).
Information we do not sell
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your inspection report or lab results with anyone other than you (or a recipient you specifically authorize, such as your healthcare provider, attorney, landlord, or property manager).
When we share information
- Accredited laboratories. Samples we collect are sent to accredited environmental labs for analysis. Sample chain-of-custody includes the property address; it does not include personal health information.
- Service providers. Our scheduling, email, and payment service providers process information solely to operate the business.
- Legal compliance. If required by court order, subpoena, or applicable law, we may be compelled to release records. Florida licensing rules also require certain record-keeping.
- With your consent. We will release your report to a third party (provider, attorney, insurer, etc.) only with your written authorization.
Text messaging
PureSpec's text-messaging practices reflect how we actually communicate, not generic boilerplate. There are two separate channels:
- Inbound texts to (321) 324-7756. You can text us directly to ask about scheduling, send a photo of a concern, or follow up about an inspection. Daniel responds personally from his phone. These are person-to-person conversations, no automated SMS platform, no broadcast lists, no AI auto-replies.
- Automated messages from our booking system (Spectora). Clients who schedule through our online booking link receive automated appointment confirmations, reminders, and report-ready notifications from Spectora's system. By booking through Spectora, you agree to Spectora's separate SMS terms and privacy policy, Spectora, not PureSpec, is the registered sender for those automated messages and handles all carrier-compliance obligations.
- What we will never send. Marketing or promotional broadcast texts. SMS solicitations. Bulk campaigns. Recurring "tips" or "reminders" you didn't ask for. PureSpec does not maintain an SMS marketing list and does not export client phone numbers to any third-party SMS marketing platform.
- No mobile information shared with third parties. No mobile information, including your phone number, opt-in data, or message content, is shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. The only third party that processes your phone number for messaging is Spectora (transactional booking messages only), governed by Spectora's own privacy policy.
- Opting out. Reply STOP to any automated Spectora message to opt out of further booking-system notifications. For person-to-person messages with Daniel, simply let us know you'd prefer phone or email and we'll switch channels, no automated opt-out keyword is needed.
- Costs. Standard message and data rates may apply per your wireless carrier plan. PureSpec does not charge you for text communications.
- Voluntary. Providing your phone number is not a condition of receiving inspection services. You can request inspection entirely by phone, email, or web form if you prefer.
HIPAA & medical information
PureSpec is an environmental assessment company, not a healthcare provider, and is not a HIPAA covered entity. If you share medical information with us voluntarily (e.g. a CIRS or MCAS diagnosis to give context), we treat it as confidential and do not disclose it without your consent, but you should know we are not bound by HIPAA. We do not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice.
Data retention
We retain inspection records and lab reports for a minimum period consistent with Florida licensing requirements and prudent professional practice. Contact form submissions that do not result in an engagement are retained for limited customer-service follow-up.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information:
- HTTPS encryption. The website is served over HTTPS, meaning data transmitted between your browser and our site is encrypted in transit. Look for the closed lock icon in your browser address bar or "https://" at the start of the URL.
- Founder-only access to inspection records. Daniel Melendez personally performs every inspection and is the only person who accesses inspection records, photographs, and lab reports. PureSpec does not subcontract inspections or share record-access with outside personnel.
- Payment processing. When applicable, payment is processed by industry-standard third-party providers (Spectora for online booking, Stripe / Square / similar for invoicing). Credit card numbers and banking details are not stored on PureSpec systems; we never see your full card number.
- Lab transmission. Lab samples are physically shipped via tracked carrier with chain-of-custody documentation. Digital lab results are received over encrypted channels from the accredited laboratory.
- Limited offline storage. Physical inspection records (when retained) are stored at a secured business location with restricted access.
No internet-connected system is perfectly secure. If you have something highly sensitive to share (medical records, legal correspondence), use whatever method you trust most, we can accept materials by mail, encrypted email, or in-person hand-off as needed.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
- You can request a copy of any information we hold about you.
- You can request correction of inaccurate information.
- You can request deletion, subject to record-keeping obligations.
- You can opt out of any non-essential marketing communications at any time.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar local-storage technology for three purposes: keeping the site functional, measuring usage so we can improve it, and (when you arrive from a Google Ads listing) measuring whether that ad helped you find us. We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you choose, analytics and advertising tags are loaded in a denied state and do not set identifying cookies.
The third-party services that may set cookies once you grant consent are:
- Google Analytics 4 (property ID G-VT7GBJ0LZL). Sets _ga and _ga_* cookies to measure unique visitors and sessions. Data is sent to Google. We have configured GA4 with IP anonymization where supported and the default 2-month data retention.
- Google Ads conversion measurement (account ID AW-17389579759). Sets _gcl_* cookies to attribute a phone call, booking-link click, or form submission to a prior Google Ads click. Used only if you arrived from a Google ad.
- Google Tag (GT-WP4KF3XF) is the loader Google provides to fire the two services above. It does not collect data itself; it dispatches events to the configured destinations.
- Featurable (Google reviews widget on the home page) may set its own cookies to render and update the embedded review carousel.
The first-party cookie / local-storage entries we set ourselves are:
- ps-consent-v1 — stores your cookie-banner choice (granted, denied, or your granular preferences) so we do not re-prompt on every page load. Local storage, never transmitted off your device.
Your choices and opt-outs
- The cookie banner. On your first visit, a banner asks whether to enable analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in our footer.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal (Brave, DuckDuckGo, Firefox with GPC enabled, etc.), we treat it as an opt-out and load tags in denied state automatically, without showing the banner.
- Browser controls. All major browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. Blocking cookies entirely will not break the site.
- Google's own opt-outs. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google's My Ad Center.
- California residents (CCPA / CPRA). California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We treat your GPC signal, your cookie-banner rejection, or an email to Info@purespecenvironmental.com with the subject line "Do Not Share" as a valid opt-out request. We do not sell personal information for money; Google Ads conversion measurement may legally be considered "sharing" under CCPA, and that is what your opt-out controls.
Affiliate links & Amazon Associates
This site includes a brief Amazon Storefront page that links to an Amazon influencer storefront curated by Daniel. PureSpec Environmental LLC is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Daniel Melendez earns a small commission from qualifying purchases, at no additional cost to you.
How this is handled:
- Independence of inspection findings. Any product recommendation on this site is made because Daniel would buy it himself or recommend it to a family member. Inspection findings, lab interpretation, and the contents of any report we issue are never influenced by affiliate relationships. We do not steer inspection clients toward specific products to drive commissions.
- Disclosure on every affiliate link. Every link on the Recommended Equipment page is marked
rel="sponsored"in the HTML and is flanked by a written affiliate disclosure on the page itself. - What Amazon collects when you click. When you click an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon may set its own cookies in your browser to attribute the click and any subsequent purchase back to our affiliate ID. Amazon's data collection on amazon.com is governed by Amazon's privacy policy, not ours.
- No purchase data flows back to us in identifiable form. Amazon reports affiliate earnings to us only in aggregate. We do not see your name, what you bought, or what you paid.
- Opting out. If you would rather not participate in the affiliate program, simply visit amazon.com directly without clicking through one of our links. Your inspection service and any communication with us are completely unaffected.
AI training & content scraping
PureSpec content, including text, photographs, inspection report templates, and editorial writing on this website, is the intellectual property of PureSpec Environmental LLC and is not licensed for use in training artificial intelligence models, generative AI systems, or commercial scraping datasets.
We permit AI search engines that cite back to PureSpec as a source, including ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Perplexity, Google AI Overviews / Gemini, Apple Intelligence, and similar attributing systems, because those engines surface PureSpec's expertise to people searching for help. We expressly opt out of bulk training-data harvesting that does not provide attribution.
Our robots.txt explicitly blocks training-only crawlers including Common Crawl (CCBot), Bytespider (ByteDance), Amazonbot, Diffbot, Omgilibot, and similar scrapers. Crawling our site in violation of this declaration may constitute unauthorized access under applicable law.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
